Monthly Meeting Agenda

February 16th, 2026

The meeting was called to order at 7:15pm.

3)  Members in Distress/Silent Key: Ed and Cathy are recuperating and are on the mend!

4) 50/50 Drawing: Fred (KE8UJA) Winner!

5) VP’s Notes: Dene’ (N5XDM) read an excerpt from January’s QST regarding Changes to Part 97 to delete minor and redundant verbiage and the elimination of paper licenses from the FCC.

6) Department Reports and Discussion

A) Repeater Committee- Our current Henry Amplifier is under the weather and needs serviced or replaced. A technician at Henry suggested a few diagnostic steps to take prior to shipping it back for refurbishment. The current amp is 10+ years old and would likely become unserviceable in the near future due to obsolescent components. A new Henry Amplifier will cost in the vicinity of $2,200. During this meeting KB8ELG suggested a repeater work day to do the necessary diagnostics on the equipment. We chose Saturday March 21, 2026 after breakfast (1030-1100).

B) Hamfests- Livonia’s Hamfest is this Saturday February 21st and we have a table. Any persons wishing to go should contact KB8ELG if they want a ride. He will be leaving from his home at 0530. TMRA is March 15, 2026 at Owens Community College. Some discussion was had in regarding the Maumee Valley Gun Collector’s Association Gun Show (MVGCA) which is Saturday and Sunday March 14th and 15th to do marketing for our Amateur Radio Club. Tables for the Gun Show can only be acquired by a member of the MVGCA and must be selling firearm related items.

B)   Treasurer’s Report- Treasurer's Report: reported by Jan Tropf.  Motion to approve finance report and the paying of bills made by KE8VFR/KB8UTN:  Approved.

5) Old Business     

Yaesu FT-710 “Field” having been selected to be the raffle prize for the upcoming Summer Hamfest. We have opted to purchase the radio immediately to avoid them being “sold out”.

 

6) New Business

January 2, 2027 5:30 PM has been selected for the club Christmas Party. The Rotary Building will be reserved this week. The meal will be Pot Luck.

No new requests have been made for Amateur Testing.

 

7) Good of the Club

April 30th- May 2nd 2026 will be Wauseon’s Operation Homecoming. Our club will seek an active role in it with parking assistance and a vintage deployment.

KE8ITJ displayed a nifty example of a laser engraved business card. It has been suggested to make these our new membership card.

A FCARC Fox Hunt will be held May 9, 2026. It will begin after a hearty Delta 109 Breakfast and start at York Park at 1030. KE8ELG will be the designated Fox. Also, we must either retrieve the current trophy from the past winner or construct a new one.

 

 

8) Adjournment

A motion to adjourn was made by KB8TYN and seconded by KE8ITJ and all were in favor.  KB8ELG closed the meeting at 8:30pm
