Hello all -

I just received a text from Scott W8AKY, with a link to a YouTube
Video about something that we ALL should be aware of, and be prepared to
take actions with, if it comes up on the air.

The Wednesday Night Net topic will be - "How do you handle an
emergency or distress call on the air."

The video is about a distress call that came in during a local net
down south, on March 7th (only a couple days ago) and is mostly a
step-by-step about how that was handled on the air, and all of the
parameters that go along with taking up an emergency traffic call - this
is a link to the video -

Please take the time to attend the net and maybe toss your comments
into the ring - this may also turn into a discussion at one of the FCARC
meeting nights, as there are a lot of steps that one can take to make
sure you have all of the RIGHT information to give to public safety if
you happen to be that person behind the mic talking to the person in
distress.

    Thanks for your time -
