2/19/24:The meeting was called to order at the Wauseon AdministrationBuilding Firemen's Training Room, 230 Clinton Street, Wauseon, OH43567 at 7:30 pm by Bryan Patterson (KB8ELG). 24 members and guestswere in attendance, introductions were made and the Pledge ofAllegiance was given by all. Gratitude expressed to Jan Tropf for theuse of this facility.

Correctionsto Minutes from Previous Meeting: reimbursement to KB8QJF ishappening today, not last meeting.

 

Treasurer'sReport: reported by KB8QJF. Motion to approve by KC8HDG and KE8UJA.Reimbursing KB8QJF $79 for FCARC QSL cards. Motion to approve byKE8ITJ and KC8HDG. 




SolarEclipse will occur 4/8/24. Large amounts of people are anticipated tobe migrating to Fulton County to observe the eclipse; this maysaturate cell signals and ability to communicate. Schools will beclosed. Fulton County EMA is requesting one amateur radio operator bein attendance at each Fulton County police station and firedepartment, so 11 operators. Each operator is requested to have a 2mmobile radio, possibly with an amp. KD8KBU will operate an HF radioto communicate traffic to Columbus. KE8OKA will operate as netcontrol at Fulton County Health Center. Swanton is expected to be theprimary site. **We are on call. Our services may or may not beneeded. WE ARE NOT TO SELF DEPLOY**. 

Mockexercise is scheduled Saturday 3/23/24 at 12:00 noon, with alloperators to be in place at their assigned sites. 

Hamswho are volunteering will receive a link via email to complete FEMAtraining IS-100, 200, 700, 800. Hams volunteering: KE8ITJ, KE8REG,WB8ZOI, KC8PCU, KE8BHW, KB8QJF, KD8KBU, KD8TUI, W8AKY, WB8HF, KE8OKA,KC8ELG, AA8YY, KB8VTN(?), KE8QFJ(?), KC8HDG (?)

KB8QJFcomments the eclipse will be a wonderful opportunity for Earth MoonEarth transmissions

WinterField Day at the Delta Reservoir was a success. This is FCARC's firsttime participating. A QSL card was received.


TheFulton County EMA is requesting a list of all amateurs with 4x4vehicles who would be available and willing to make runs for theCounty during any snow emergencies.

AA8YYis coordinating AR Newsline to air on K8BXQ repeater on Wednesdaysand Sundays 7:00-7:30PM.


KB8ELGis exploring various means of bringing wireless internet to theprimary repeater shed. He has discussed with FCHC sharing wirelesswith them. A quote has also been obtained from Metallink.


FultonCounty Police is requesting our help with various events through theyear, including 5/27/24 Masonic Lodge breakfast-- help with partking;Independence Day fireworks Swanton/Delta held on various dates.


KE8ITJsuggested having up to date announcements added to a Google Doc whichcould be available to net controllers to read during nets.


KE8OKA/KB8ELGdiscussed inconsistencies with FCARC email. Transition to Gmail?
