During WWII the Reeves Sound Laboratory got a contract to make quartz
crystals for the Signal Corps. Reeves made this video showing, in
amazing detail, every step in making their quartz crystals, from
inspecting the incoming raw crystals to shipping the finished crystal in
its holder. You'll be ready to set up your own quartz crystal factory
after watching this film. An amazing amount of hand labor was involved
to produce an accurate frequency reference, and the video highlights the
contributions of women in wartime manufacturing.
You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/duZlWWwxIPQ
Seems like it was dress up day for the filming, or did they wear
corsages every day?
