[FCARC] service request from the Board of Elections - feedback needed

While attending the Museum event on Saturday, we had an opportunity to meet
with representatives from the Fulton County Board of Elections. They have
a need for backup communications during their two major election events in
spring and autumn. There are 17 polling locations throughout Fulton
County, and about half a dozen lack phone service, or have very spotty cell
coverage. We would be asked to have operators at those 6 or so locations
to be able to relay traffic in the event traditional methods don't work
reliably. We would also require an operator at the Board of Elections to
act as a net control for officials. The days would be long, from 5:30am to
8:00pm, but we could plan shifts to relieve operators. Needless to say
these are Tuesday events, so any non-retired HAMs should take that
into consideration.

Traffic could consist of:

   - reporting equipment issues
   - validating voter information (all public record information)
   - request for Board of Election officials to report to that location
   - reporting suspicious activity

KB8ELG and I would like to hear your feedback on this request. For
everyone on this list that lives in the area and is capable of assisting,
would this be something you would volunteer to assist with? Please reply
back to me after consideration.
