The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by KB8ELG with 13 Club members in
attendance.
The Treasurer report was read and accepted by all.
Correspondence:
KB8ELG read a letter from Tom Nickle (W8AI), our club member at a distance, with
a donation to the club and condolences regarding the passing of Ralph Smith - W8HG.
We received a return of $175 from the Legion Hall along with a positive letter
on how well we left the facility after the December Hamfest. The fee is
normally used for a cleaning crew which was not needed.
TMRA provided a complimentary table to their March Hamfest, but with a
stipulation that it can only be used for the purpose of promoting the club, not
for the sale of equipment.
Committee reports follow:
Hamfest: We netted $655 from the winter Hamfest. Changes to the 2017 Winter
hamfest were discussed. A motion was made by KC8PCU and seconded by KD8WSL to
commit to reserving the Legion Hall for December 2, and for committing to June 3
for the Summer Hamfest. All were in favor.
Membership: We are starting a new year and tallying membership renewals. Thank
you for your continued support of the club.
Education: The February Tech class may be canceled as we only have one commit so
far. KB8ELG has set a hard date of Jan 21 to get additional commits to taking
the class.
Repeater: Repeater maintenance is planned for this Saturday, Jan 21, after
breakfast (approx 10:30). Plans include installation of the power amplifier and
new interconnect cables, and racking the backup radio at the Hospital.
Emergency Services: There was a brief discussion on changing the Wednesday night
Emergency Services Net to alternate every other Wednesday, and restoring the
Club rag-chew net to the opposite Wednesdays. K8JPD feels the initial weekly
net schedule has accomplished its goal in preparing other operators to run an
emergency net, and a twice a month schedule would be more appropriate.
Events:
Christmas Dinner: Dinner was well attended with about 28 club members and family
present.
Discussion was had on the level of participation the club should be involved
with during the course of the year. The members present all agreed that the
Delta Chicken Fest, Bull Thistle Fireworks, Festival of Lights Parade are
worthwhile activities to offer exposure for the club, and we will continue to
participate in them.
Announcements:
VE testing returns to the Archbold PD in January and back to it's original time
of 9am.
Election of Officers:
President: Bryan Patterson KB8ELG
Vice President: John Meyers KD8ZKE
Secretary: Craig Szczublewski KD8KBU
Treasurer: LuAnn Kuney KB8ELH
Hamfests:
01/29/2017 Hazel Park (Madison Heights, MI)
02/19/2017 Livonia, MI
02/19/2017 Mansfield, OH
Next Meeting: The next regular club meeting will be 7:30pm on February 20, 2017
tentatively at the County Administration Building (same as the Drivers License
Bureau), 152 S. Fulton St, Wauseon. This will include election of officers for
the year.
