The meeting was called to order at 7:35pm by KB8ELG with 16 Club members in
attendance. Minutes from the previous meeting were read by KB8ELG and accepted.

1. Members in Distress

As most are aware, Chuck Purdy/K8RHZ passed away on July 4.
Dale Little/N8MI has moved to an assisted living facility as well.

2. Finance

LuAnn/KB8ELH read the treasures report and a motion was made by N8WOM to accept
the report and seconded by KC8PCU. All were in favor of acceptin the report as
read.

3. Bills to present

Several bills related to Field Day were presented, including parts for the
rebuilt electrical panel, fuel for the generator, and other necessities. KC8PCU
made a motion to pay the bills, which was seconded by W8TUX.

4. Membership Report

Membership stands at 53 paid and lifetime members.

5. Hamfest Committee

A reminder was put out that the Winter Hamfest is scheduled for December 3 at
the American Legion on St Rt 109.

6. Education Committee

There has been interest in a technician class which will most likely be
scheduled after the County Fair which is the first week of September.

7. Field Day

KD8KBU gave the report on our claimed score and QSOs which can be found at
http://k8bxq.org/fieldday
There was discussion on ways to improve Field Day which includes having multiple
club members trained on major systems setup, like the pneumatic mast and
generator systems.

On the topic of generators, KB8ELG discussed the possibility of getting a
smaller dual-fuel system which could be fixed to the mast trailer, which would
be enough to power the compressor and 6-7 radios. More info will be presented
at future meetings.

8. Emergency Services

W8TUX gave a presentation on his efforts to move forward with taking traffic
from our local emergency services net and integrating with the Great Lakes
Traffic Net on 3.932. This net meets regularly at 8:30pm on the HF frequency
designated. Part of this effort will be learning to use the ARRL traffic form.

On short notice, the club participated in the Delta Chicken Festival Parade,
assisting the Delta Police Dept with traffic management. Out of this we now
have a standing request for assistance with this parade as well as the festival
in general. The Delta Police may also work at getting several of their officers
licensed at the tech level to allow better communications between our crews and
theirs.

We have also been asked by the Fayette Fire Dept and the Fulton County EMA to
help with the Bull Thistle Festival on August 6 at Harrison Lake for the
Fireworks portion. We are to meet at 7:15pm with the Park Rangers to discuss
placement. We may attempt to setup a cross band repeater system and test this
out the week before. We need about 8 active radios in the field, and have had 7
club members raise their hand at the meeting. Please consider helping out
(reply to me directly).

9. Repeater Committee

We have a scheduled maintenance day this Saturday at or around 10:30am. The
primary purpose is to work on setting up the new amp. Secondary goals may
include visiting the backup site to bring up the power on the 440 Yaesu Fusion.
If you have notbeen out to the site, is located at the base of the large tower
at the Fulton County Health Center. Listed for us on 147.195 as we make our way
there if you want to stop out and see the system.
