Hello everyone, here are notes from the Monday night Club meeting:

The meeting was called to order at 7:35pm with 22 members in attendance. The
Finance Report was read and accepted.

Bills Presented: K8LI presented two bills from the memorial committee totaling
$154, both were accepted and paid.

Membership: The club currently has 55 members

Committee reports follow:

Education: KC8UOM reports there is one individual scheduled for testing on
10/31. It is an Extra class upgrade, so walk-ins will be welcome.

Hamfest: With Ft. Wayne around the corner, and Madison Heights this coming
weekend, KB8ELG encouraged all club members to print the PDF flier for the
winter hamfest and distribute them. The Hamfest flier can be found at:

http://k8bxq.org/hamfest

Repeater Committee: The repeater committee has several tasks on hand:

1. repair the cooling fan in the backup repeater
2. procure and install a PA deck for the primary repeater
3. program the new Yaesu Fusion for UHF operation and deploy to the backup site

We enabled CTCSS on the main repeater as of October 1, which does not appear to
have caused any major disruption. Thanks to everyone for the patience with this
transition, it will certainly cut down on wear and tear on the main repeater, as
well as a future PA deck.

EC Report: Jim gave us a report on the Emergency Services exercises conducted
throughout the state of Ohio, along with the types of traffic passed using VHF
and HF. Bryan gave a review of the NVIS antenna he constructed for the exercise
and encouraged everyone to review the plans for this NVIS antenna and even
suggested having a workshop to construct this useful antenna.

The Ohio ARES NVIS antenna can be found here:
