Hi folks, here is another Field Day update.
Setup/Prep:
As indicated in the club meeting notes, setup can happen anytime after 8:00pm
Thursday evening. Most of us running in the contest will probably be out after
5:00pm on Friday to start slinging antennas and figuring out station placement.
Our goal is to have all of the antennas in the air Friday night, so Saturday can
be focused on station setup, shelter arrangement, power hookups, etc. It would
be great to have all stations ready to go at 2:00pm on Saturday.
Bryan (KB8ELG) will be arranging to pick up one of the county generators from
Swanton, and we thank the county EM coordinators for granting us use of the
equipment.
Remember to bring plenty of antenna feed line, extra extension cables,
multi-outlet strips, and marking/caution tape. Think about where you will be
setting up, or who you might be sharing table space with. The sun does get
pretty brutal Saturday afternoon/evening, so consider a shelter or EZ-Up, along
with a fan to keep cool. You might also want to have a water-tight tote or
container to quickly move equipment to in the event of rain.
Saturday Night Dinner:
We will have our traditional Ham dinner Saturday night. Bryan (KB8ELG) we be
supplying the ham, so bring a dish to pass. Also don't forget utensils, plates,
napkins for yourself. Many of the participants will usually have extra to
share, but it does not hurt to be prepared.
Participants (that I know of):
Bryan - KB8ELG (Club Station/GOTA control point operator)
Andy - KE8RU (CW/Phone, any available band)
Trenton - KD8WVO (Phone 15m)
Craig - KD8KBU (Digital, any available band)
Lindsay/Angela - K8LI/KB2AVN (Phone 40m)
Jim - K8JPD (Phone 40m)
Adam - KB8MDF (Phone, any available band, 160m loop)
That's all I have for now. Further updates as events warrant....
