Hello everyone, here are notes from the Monday night Club meeting:
The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm with 22 members and guests in
attendance. The Finance Report was read and accepted, and the annual Liability
and Equipment Insurance was authorized to be paid.
Membership: The club currently has 53 members
Committee reports follow:
Education: The V.E. team held a special testing session at the Tedrow Hamfest on
June 6 with 5 participants. They report 2 new Techs and 1 new General were
earned. KB8ELG reports that the next attempt at a Technician Class will
probably be closer to end of the year.
Hamfest: The summer hamfest was a great success, KB8ELG is still collating the
revenue and attendance, and will report that soon. We had some great door
prizes to hand out with one of the new Techs wining one of the HTs. The ARRL
representative in attendance also complemented us on a efficient and well run
operation, and looks forward to coming back for the winter hamfest in December.
Field Day: Field Day is almost upon us! It is June 27-28 this year. Here is a
quick breakdown of important times:
Setup can start anytime after 8:00pm, Thursday, June 25.
Friday evening is when most of us will be out to setup.
The contest starts Saturday at 2:00pm
The Picnic dinner will be at 6:00pm on Saturday
The contest wraps up at 2:00pm Sunday
I'll be putting together another Field Day update email shortly.
Repeater Committee: The Yaesu DR-1X repeater has been received by KB8ELG, but we
do not expect to make any significant progress in deploying it until after Field
Day. The repeater committee will also be planning a maintenance trip to the
main site to check the duplexors and other settings. We have been getting mixed
reports on the main repeater performance we hope to remedy.
EC Report: Jim McBride has been running the club Emergency Services net Sunday
evenings at 7:00pm local time, on the 147.195+ repeater. All club members
interested in emergency traffic nets should consider checking in to learn proper
protocol. They have been practicing message handling and testing simplex and
mobile operations. Jim activated an emergency weather net on Wednesday, June 10
when sirens were sounded due to a funnel cloud siting in Fulton County.
Everyone involved in the net operated in a very professional manner and
information was relayed in an efficient manner.
Old Business:
Minutes from the previous meeting were read and accepted.
Members in Distress:
David Pugh (AB8RC) has been making routine trips to visit his mother as she
recovers from a broken hip.

Perrysburg. His new address is:

Administration Building (same as the Drivers License Bureau), 152 S. Fulton St,
Wauseon. The club meeting will be at 7:30pm.
