Hello everyone, here are some notes from the Monday night Club meeting:
The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm with 19 members and guests in
attendance. Minutes from the previous meeting and the treasurer's report were
read and accepted.
Committee reports follow:
Education: We have interest by three different people in having a technician
class in the spring. KB8ELG will be working with several other club members to
outline a program around the ARRL course and will announce a date soon.
Repeater Committee: The repeater continues to operate normally. We are
considering rotating between the backup and main repeater sites to make sure
both radios stay in working condition.
Memorial Committee: The club made a donation to the North Clinton Church in
honor and memory of Ken Alvord (KD8ERB) who passed away in November.
Members in Distress: No Report.
EC Report: Nothing to report.
Membership: Memberships are reset in January, as of this evening we have 40 paid
members and lifetime members. I'll have the membership list updated on the club
website within the next few days, so if you do not see your name listed there,
check to make sure we received your membership dues and contact me direct via email.
T-Shirt Committee: Nothing to report.
Hamfest Committee: The Summer Hamfest will be June 6 at the Tedrow Woodlot. And
the Winter Hamfest has been set for December 5 at the American Legion on St Rt
109, just south of Delta.
Club Officer Elections: No changes in the lineup this year, the current officers
all accepted their positions from last year. We look forward to serving the
club members and amateur radio in general. Your 2015 club officers are:
President -- Bryan Patterson KB8ELG
Vice President -- Craig Szczublewski KD8KBU
Treasurer -- Lu Ann Kuney KB8ELH
Secretary -- Angela Infante KB2AVN
Good of Amateur Radio:
1. Bryan (KB8ELG) posted information on the sale of a set of duplexors the club
had which could not effectively be used with our VHF system. The unit sold for
around $422 after fees.
2. We had a great presentation by Bob (WB8ZOI) on a set of Coax Cable Stripping
Tools from DX Engineering. Bob showed how easy a clean cut can be achieved
accurately and consistently on several different cable types.
