Hello everyone, here are some notes from the last Monday nights Club meeting:

The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm with 18 members in attendance. Minutes
from the previous meeting and the treasurer's report were read and accepted.

Committee reports follow:

Members in Distress: nothing to report

Education: Th Autumn Tech Class is still being planned for September on the
14th, 21st, and 28th. This will allow us to promote the class well ahead of
time at several of the bigger events like the Delta Chicken Festival and the
Fulton County Fair. The VE Team held a testing session at the end April, but no
new licenses were issued. As for now, we have no one scheduled for May 25th.

Repeater Committee: A few of us plan to be out to the repeater building this
weekend (either Sunday or Monday) to install the A/C. With temperatures
reaching into the 90s Monday, this needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
No word from the insurance company on the backup repeater claim, KB8ELG is still
following up with them. Lindsay (K8LI) reports Echolink and IRLP are back
on-line on his repeater. Once we have the A/C installed into the Shack, we are
going to pursue integrating IRLP and Echolink from the K8LI repeater into the
K8BXQ repeater over a 440 link. Once this link is in place, we have the option
of replaying ARRL voice bulletin broadcasts over the K8BXQ repeater. There
seemed to be a good deal of interest in this capability.

Memorial Committee/Silent Key: Nothing to report.

Membership: we have 50 paid members. Thank you to all who continue to support
the club.

Hamfest Committee: The Hamfest will be June 1st at the Tedrow Woodlot. There
are flyers available on the website (under the Hamfest section) for posting at
regional Hamfests. As in the past, we'll be having a special VE testing session
during the Hamfest. The Hamfest is open to the public starting at 8:00am. If
you would like to assist the group with the 50/50 raffle, collecting donations
as people arrive, and other business related tasks, please plan on being out at
5:30am (that is not a typo, 5:30am) to the Woodlot. We are always looking for
more people to setup and sell, so plan on stopping out if you have the time.
All other club related tasks for the Hamfest are in order at this point. One a
side note, we usually always have ARRL door prizes we draw tickets for, and we
are still doing that. We will also have a special drawing for a brand new
Baofeng UV-5RA 2M/440 HT. I recently purchased one of these and was very
impressed at the cost/value. The club decided to purchase a few for door prizes
and raffles.

Special Events:

1. Field Day will be June 22-23 this year. We are back at the Woodlot in Tedrow
and expect a great turnout with the event being the week before the Threshers
event. I will be sending out an E-mail soon regarding this event and trying to
get a list of people who will be operating.

2. Looking further out, we will be having a booth at the Fulton County Fair
again this year. We are looking for suggestion on how to make the booth a bit
more exciting and lively. We are looking for pictures from community events we
have assisted with, so if you have any, please send them my way.

New Business:

There is a camp-out at the County Fairgrounds in Wauseon this weekend. Contact
K8LI for more details.

Good of Amateur Radio:

Thanks again to everyone who stopped out to the HF Digital Workshop this past
month. I had a great time putting that together, and I think everyone got
something out of it. If you have a radio related topic you think you might want
to present, pitch the idea to me and we'll see about getting more of these
workshops going.

Upcoming Hamfests:

06/01/2013 Tedrow, OH (FCARC)
06/02/2013 Chelsea, MI
06/16/2014 Monroe, MI

Next Meeting: The next regular club meeting will be June 17th at the County
Administration Building (same as the Drivers License Bureau), 152 S. Fulton St,
Wauseon. The club meeting will be at 7:30pm.
