Sorry folks, I was out of town for the February Meeting, but our club Secretary
supplied the minutes for publishing:

February 18th, 2013 the Meeting was called to order by Brian Patterson, KB8ELG
at approximately 7:30.

Members in distress: Phil Bartos (KB8VTJ) is in the hospital.

Minutes from January were unavailable.
There were no bills presented.
We received a donation from Doyle Bernath W8TGC in the amount of 225.00 for
equipment that was sold for him at the Livonia Michigan hamfest.

Education report: The VE team reported no testing session in the month of
January. There is one person signed up for testing this coming Saturday,
February 23rd. We have one person signed up for the Amateur Radio class. The
class date has been pushed back one week. Classes will start on February 23rd
from 10am to 2pm. They would continue for the two following Saturdays. KA8KDS
also suggested to do a demo at Harrison Lake State Park when the Boy Scouts are
there. Brian KB8ELG will look into this.

Repeater committee: The announcements and scheduler are back online. FCARC
repeater will be linked into K8LI’s repeater for IRLP. The new controller will
do weather alerts and will allow remote link to shutdown the repeater. The club
is looking to K8LI for support on the CAT controller. We are running on a new
power feed at the repeater site and touch tone codes have been enabled on the
repeater for programming and operation.

Membership report: We have 46 paid members.

Hamfest report: WD8KRS will be securing the port a potty for the hamfest. The
hamfest will be at the woodlot in Tedrow on June 1st.

Good of Amateur Radio: KA8JPD has a TET 4 band HF four element beam for sale @
150.00. 3 Wire manuals for sale of 5.00 each.

The club offers classes and testing sessions which gives us good public
relations. Larry KD8WSL suggested that we give a one year membership to the club
upon completion of the Amateur Radio course. They must complete the entry level
course. This was made into a motion by KA8JPD. It was seconded by KC8UQU. All
were in favor.

Mon Fri. 10:30 Bud’s Midnight Madness Net 147.195
Wed. 8:00 ARES net 147.195
See last months minutes for area nets.

We need to do an inventory of the local hams equipment in case of emergency.
There was some discussion on having training of new hams on emergency
communications. This will be tabled until the March meeting.
Motion to adjourn by KA8JPD, Jim and seconded by W8TGC, Doyle.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:22pm.
