Hello everyone, here are some notes from the August 19th Club meeting:

The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm with 17 members and guests in
attendance. Minutes from the previous meeting and the treasurer's report were
read and accepted.

Committee reports follow:

Members in Distress: KD8WSL reports his XYL is recovering nicely after surgery.

Education: The Autumn Tech Class is still being planned for September on the
14th, 21st, and 28th. We have one person definitely interested, and perhaps a
second. All club members are encouraged to promote the class. The class will
be held from 10:00am to 2:00pm on the 14th and 21st, with a review session on
the 28th before testing the same day. The class will be held at the Delta
Masonic Hall on Main St in Delta. There is no cost for the class, but there is
a $15 FCC test fee for the Technician test.

Repeater Committee: Replacement components for the primary repeater amplifier
should be received by the end of the month. All three finals were blown out,
but repair should be quick once the new packs arrive. There have been reports
that since the new 4 bay antenna system was installed, coverage has changed
dramatically. Bryan explained the design of the 4 bay and how the lobes could
have shifted after installation. This is certain;y reflected in the improved
coverage areas towards Defiance and point North.

Memorial Committee/Silent Key: Nothing to report.

Membership: we have 54 paid members. Thank you to all who continue to support
the club.

Hamfest Committee: A vote was conducted and it was approved to investigate a
winter hamfest on December 6th of 2014. The location is tentatively Memorial
Hall in Delta. More info will be made available as we have it.

Special Events:

1. August 24th is the Ohio QSO Party. More information can be found at:
    http://www.ohqp.org/

2. Fulton County Fair: It was decided that we will run the full week of the
fair, manning the booth as best as possible. KB8ELG stated that he wants a
roster of 2 hour time slots for club members to help at the booth. He will be
putting out a call for help in the net day or two. We intend to meet at the
Fair Ground this Saturday (the 24th) after breakfast to put up the wire antenna.
The fair runs August 30th through September 5th.

3. Ohio State Parks on the Air: Plan on stopping out to Harrison Lake State
Park on September 7th, between noon and 8:00pm. The club will be running in the
contest for a second year. Stop out to see us or even call CQ for a bit.

Upcoming Hamfests:

09/08/2013 Findlay, OH
09/15/2013 Adrian, MI

Next Meeting: The next regular club meeting will be September 16th at the
County Administration Building (same as the Drivers License Bureau), 152 S.
Fulton St, Wauseon. The club meeting will be at 7:30pm.
