Meeting Minutes
Wednesday December 12, 2007
The meeting was held at the Prince George's County Fire and Emergency
Services Building in Landover, Maryland. Dan Blasberg, KA8YPY
President called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
Seven people attended the meeting.

Secretary Report:
Report given, Corrections noted motion to pass Diane Zimmerman, AA3OF
and 2nd by William Hatfield, W3QX, motion carried.
Treasurer's Report:
Report Given, by John Chitwood, K3RGB, Hugh, W3ABC needs balance of
all scholarship accounts as of 12/31/2007. Hugh still working on
turning over (reconciled accounts). Lengthy discussion followed.
Paypal has a $550 limit for withdrawing funds per month. Discussion
followed how to remove limit. John asked that the $70 bad debt owed
from a vendor from the 2006 FARFest be removed from the books. Motion
to remove debt and accept report made by Ed, KA3PZE and 2nd by
William, W3QX, motion carried.
Executive Vice President's Report:
Report Given by, William hatfield, W3QX, Domain names are paid up.
Transfer of web host to occur shortly. William, W3QX to check on
feasibility of a domain to the Armed Forces Retirement Radio Club.
Discussion on the domain to Al Waller, last donation made in 2004 and
not cashed. John, K3RGB will void the $100 check in the books and
place funds back.
Scholarship Committee Report:
Report Given by Diane Zimmerman, AA3OF, Web site problems has been
solved. Publicity is going well. Discussion followed on different
publicity sites. Diane is getting requests for electronic text for
newsletters and for hard copies of press release. There are 55
scholarships to administer this year.
No ARRL Report was given.
Fundraising Report:
Nov 11th Maryland DC Section Convention went well, thanks to AFRH for
the use of the facilities and thanks to the ARRL section leadership
for the event. Discussion on various aspects of the event followed.
If given the chance to sponsor such an event again FAR would like to
do so.
Old Business:
Nominating Committee Report Given by Ed, KA3PZE
Ed had issues getting out an e-mail asking for volunteers to run for
office. Slate was finalized at meeting:

Executive Vice-President - William Hatfield, W3QX
Secretary - Bill Dobson, N3WD

Vice President - Open
Vice President - Open
Dan called out of meeting for other business, William Hatfield
assumed as presiding officer at 8:45 PM. Diane, AA3OF made the motion
to pass the slate, 2nd by Gary, W3DTN, motion carried. Dan, KA8YPY
returned and William, W3QX passed presiding officer back to Dan,
KA8YPY at 8:49PM
Secretary Bill, N3WD caste an unanimous ballot vote for the slate of
officers. Officers are elected for a 1 year term.

Motion to adjourn was made by Diane, AA3OF and seconded by Gary,
W3DTN at 8:57 p.m. Motion carried.
The next Foundation for Amateur Radio meeting is scheduled for
Wednesday February 13th, 2008 beginning at 8 p.m. The meeting
location will be the Prince George's County Fire and Emergency
Services Building in Landover, Maryland
