Foundation for Amateur Radio, Inc.
Meeting Minutes
Wednesday August 8, 2007

The meeting was held at the Prince George’s County
Fire and Emergency Services Building in Landover,
Maryland.  Dan Blasberg, KA8YPY President called the
meeting to order at 8:05 p.m.

Six people attended the meeting.

Secretary Report:

Report given, motion to pass by Morris Brown, KA3PZE
and 2nd by Diane Zimmerman AA3OF, motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:

Report Given, by John Chitwood, K3RGB, The
corporations 990’s have been filed and John gave
copies of the 990’s to the Exec board. Motion to pass
by Diane, AA3OF and 2nd by Bill, N3WD. Motion Carried.

Executive Vice President’s Report:

No Report Given.

Scholarship Committee Report:

Diane Zimmerman, AA3OF reports: scholarship cycle for
2007-2008 almost complete. Contributions have been
received for silent key fund. Hugh Turnbull, W3ABC
asked to be relieved of the book keeping duties for
the scholarship committee. John Chitwood, K3RGB acting
treasurer accepted the role. Diane, AA3OF reports they
need a few new members for the committee. A letter was
sent to the SM to ask for such help. Diane, AA3OF will
be speaking at the BARC program meeting in September
on scholarships. For the 2007-2008 academic year the
committee awarded 58 scholarships from 25 sponsors.
There was various general discussion on the various
sponsors. The scholarship committee will have a
discussion on revising the current application form,
they will form a sub-committee for this task.

No ARRL Report was given. 

Fundraising Report:

Sept 8th  FAR sponsoring MDC Section Convention at the
Armed Forces Retirement Home 8AM until 4PM all forums
(suppose to be a break even event.

changed to November)

Motion to adjourn was made by Morris, KA3PZE and
seconded by Hugh, W3ABC at 8:51 p.m. Motion carried.

The next Foundation for Amateur Radio meeting is
scheduled for Wednesday October 10th, 2007 beginning
at 8 p.m. The meeting location will be the Prince
George’s County Fire and Emergency Services Building
in Landover, Maryland
