MINUTES
Meeting of The Foundation for Amateur Radio, Inc.
September 13, 2006

The meeting was held at the Lee Center in Alexandria, Virginia.  Mary
Morris, N4TCI, called the meeting to order at 8:10 pm.

The August minutes were approved as presented.

Acting Treasurer, John Chitwood, K3RGB, gave the treasurer's report.  The
report was accepted as presented.

Vice-President’s report  – William Hatfield -W3QX reported that changes will
be made to the FAR Fest Web pages, with explanation of  the parking problems
for 2006 and new date for 2007.  William reported that requirements to
produce a publication, perhaps yearly, were being discussed but there were
no plans at this time.

ARRL Report – Tom Abernethy - W3TOM reported on the grass roots legislative
efforts by ARRL and the National Response Committee review of Katrina
report.

F.A.R. Fest – FAR Fest Chairman Dan Blasberg -KA8YPY reported on the 2006
hamfest.  It looks like the FAR Fest committee will be able to meet
obligations from FAR Fest income.

All options remain open for a 2007 event 8 and 9 September.  The 2007 FAR
Fest needs to advertise extensively and plan carefully for the event, Dan
emphasized.

The meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m.

The location of the next FAR meeting will be at Fire and Emergency Services
building in Landover, Maryland.
