[FARReps] FAR Fest reporting

Update:

I sent a letter, which I think I also sent a copy of to FAR. A week or two
after the letter was sent, I received a telephone message on my home
answering machine from someone who I think was the executive director of
the Agricultural Center that the letter was addressed to, simply asking me
to call him at a phone number that was garbled and did not contain enough
digits, as recorded. That was more than a month ago, and there has been no
other attempt on their part to contact me or respond to my letter. If and
when I have time, I might get around to writing another letter to follow
up, but it will only be to comment on their lack of business etiquette.

Over a 20 year military career, one of the things I had drilled into me was
that business etiquette demands a "reply in kind." That is, a letter
inquiry requires a reply by letter - nothing more and nothing less. A phone
call gets nothing more than a telephone response, etc. By that standard, it
is a breach of manners to brush off a two-page letter by simply making one
phone call, leaving a message on an answering machine, and never following
up. To me, this is just one more indication they don't want our business.
