MINUTES Draft
Meeting of The Foundation for Amateur Radio, Inc.
May 10, 2006

The meeting was held at the Lee Center in Alexandria, Virginia. Mary
Morris, N4TCI, called the meeting to order at 8:20 pm.

Attendees were:
ORGANIZATIONS REPRESENTED BY
Montgomery ARC William Hatfield, W3QX
Mount Vernon ARC Mary Morris, N4TCI
Acting Treasurer John Chitwood, K3RGB

The April minutes were approved as presented.

Acting Treasurer, John Chitwood, K3RGB, gave the treasurer's report. The
report was accepted as presented. John discussed taxes. Even though we
have two distinct sets of accounts--one for operating funds and one for
scholarship funds--we need to account equally for both. John reported he
does not have the complete records of the scholarship funds. As acting
Treasurer, John mentioned his concern about not having a handle on the
scholarship funds. FAR will have to file an extension for calendar year
2005, he reported.

Vice-President’s report - Vice President William Hatfield, W3QX, reported
on our Web site efforts. Ed Herbrechtsmeier, K3QX, has built a new FAR web
page. www.farweb.org <http://www.farweb.org> goes directly to the site.
The original link, www.amateurradio-far.org
<http://www.amateurradio-far.org>, is still in use.

He also added to the meeting record that the position of FAR Secretary is
still open.

F.A.R. Fest - William, W3QX (on behalf of the F.A.R. Fest Chairman Dan
Blasberg, KA8YPY, who had to attend another event) reported that the hamfest
continues to follow its schedule. Dates for the event are Saturday,
September 9 and Sunday, September 10 at the Montgomery County (MD)
Agricultural Center (Fairgrounds) in Gaithersburg.

Old Business: No progress yet on the by-laws rewrite.

The meeting adjourned at 9:20 p.m.

The location of the next FAR meeting will be at Fire and Emergency Services
building in Landover, Maryland.

Mary Morris, N4TCI
	President and Acting Secretary
