DRAFT MINUTES
Meeting of The Foundation for Amateur Radio, Inc.
April 13, 2005

The meeting was held at Fire and Emergency Services building in Landover,
Maryland. Mary Morris, N4TIC,  called the meeting to order at 8:05 pm.

The March minutes were approved as corrected. The secretary was absent.  The
January minutes weren't available.

Treasurer, John Chitwood, K3RGB, gave the treasurer's report.  It was
accepted as presented.

AutoCall - Vice President William Hatfield, W3QX, reported on AutoCall.
Approximately 600 copies will be printed for the next issue.  Please submit
club reports, a back bone of the magazine, to the club column editor, Mark
Jones, N5RMJ.  Charles Thompson, W3CRT, will do direct sales for Auto Call.
David Lane, KG4GIY, continues to do a great job as editor.

ARRL Report - Tom Abernethy, W3TOM, summarized ARRL doings, particularly in
Maryland.  Al Brown, KZ3AB, is appointed section manager for the Maryland/DC
Section.

F.A.R. Fest -  Dan Blasberg, KA8YPY, said the FAR FEST committee met before
the FAR meeting.  Tentative assignments were made.  Dan will go th the
Fairgrounds next week to talk to the Fairgrounds management. Dan met with
the Rodeo that will share the fairgrounds the weekend of our event.  He
discussed sharing security and parking personnel. 3/4 of the inside spaces
have been sold & two barns are rented.  HEMARC will do the test table.
MVARC will do announcements.  Montgomery ARC will do the talk-in.  Laurel
VEC will handle testing.  Tom, W3TOM and Jeanne Rexroad, N4ZGI, will arrange
for the forums.  ARRL has approve the FEST as a section convention.  We'll
need 60  to 75 Volunteers to help the weekend of the event.  Vicky Gegante,
KA3VS, will be volunteer coordinator.  The greatest need is for ticket
sales.  The Web Site for FAR FEST is under development. Chip Weems, W4PBG,
requested that a map to FAR FEST be posted on the web site and in Auto
Call.. The 2005 Hamfest is September 10 and 11.

Old Business:  No progress yet on the by Laws rewirte.

Announcements:
	NCAC training is scheduled for April 23.
Hagerstown Hamfest is May 1.

The meeting adjourned at 8:47 p.m.

The location of the next FAR meeting will be held at the Lee Center in
Alexandria, Virginia.
