Jeff 
You may find that those units can no longer be used. In 2013 a lot of them no longer meet the band width for commercial use. 
All units had to be narrow band and most?could not be modified . They can be used for ham but must have their frequency changed to the ham band .?

Only about a week to go until Fredfest, and we still are shorthanded for
helpers. We really need the most bodies (3 to 4) between 0630 and 0900 for
set up and table sales, and then 1130-1230 to put tables back the way we
found them and general clean up. Also we should have two people manning the
club table and two on door prize ticket sales for the duration.

 

All volunteers will receive 3 door prize chances, and you don't need to be a
FARC member to give us a hand.

I think I can scrape up $100 cash.  I will bring that and an old cigar 
box I use to keep it in.  I think we can decide who does what
when we get there.

The Frederick Amateur Radio Club is pleased to announce our upcoming

Hamfest and Indoor Tailgating Expo (Fredfest) on Saturday, March 19, 2016.

will take place in the Social Hall of the Independent Hose Company fire

station located at 310 Baughmans Ln. in Frederick. Setup begins at 7:00

Due to the overwhelming request for tailgating tables at next Saturday's
Fredfest, we've decided to take email reservations (much like a restaurant).
Since space is limited, just email me your request for how many tables you
want ($20 for two, and $5 for each additional with a maximum of four) and we
will hold your tables until 0730 on Saturday. Tables are approx. 8' long.
The doors open at 0700 for tailgaters, so the earlier you queue up, the
better your selection.

Attached is the table layout for Saturday's Fredfest. If you are helping set
up, please familiarize yourself with this configuration.

 

Key points:

 

1.     We'll need to put the extra chairs on the rolling racks and move them
out of the way.

2.    Slightly widen the aisles by moving the tables a little closer
together.

3.    Place two chairs where the X's are. This is to partially block the
area between the tables where the tailgaters will stand.

4.    At 0700, the tailgaters may stake out their tables by placing a yellow
sticky note with their call sign or name on the tables they choose.

5.    The tailgaters may bring in their stuff via the main or side doors.
It's OK if they move the tables slightly as long as we keep this basic
configuration and don't block the aisles.

6.    At the end, we'll need to reverse the process for that evening's
Bingo.

 

We will begin selling tailgating tables at 0630 from the FARC table. After
we are finished configuring the tables, you can         

 help set up the club selling table and/or help Brian arrange the VE testing
room (chair closet).

Just a quick note of thanks to everyone who made Saturday's Fredfest a
resounding success. Without your assistance this could not have happened.
Special thanks go to:

 

Brian and Mike for running the VE testing

Bryant and Mark for selling tables and door prize tickets

Sean for manning the club table and providing the talk-in setup

Smitty and David for helping with setup and tear down, etc.

 

If I missed including you in particular, I'm sorry but it was a very busy
morning. Anyway, you know who you are and my hat is off to you and your
efforts. We raised almost $2000  for the club, and about $600 of that will
go towards the new Wires digital radio that will piggyback to the 425
repeater.  I had a great time and got to have that rare eyeball QSO with
several hams who have helped FARC and Frederick ARES over the years.
