From ljfish1 at comcast.net Thu Dec 1 23:21:17 2016 From: ljfish1 at comcast.net (Jeff Fishman) Date: Thu, 1 Dec 2016 23:21:17 -0500 Subject: [FARC] Help needed to drop tower Message-ID: <00e501d24c53$875be9b0$9613bd10$@comcast.net> When I was doing a home inspection this summer just north of Thurmont, I noticed a galvanized 35' three leg TV antenna tower on the house and asked the new owner if he would like to donate it to the club. He just emailed me and asked if I could arrange to remove it this weekend. I'm tied up this Saturday, but could really use some help with this on Sunday. It's beside a brick chimney, so I planned to cut one leg completely and most of the other two and pivot it down with a rope attached to the chimney. It's in 4 sections and should come down fairly easily. I'd like to keep it in our inventory to use if we relocate the club station to the airport or other location. Sunday around 1100 or 1200 looks like a good time and the forecast is for light winds and no rain. One or two helpers would really be nice. Please let me know if you're available. It should take less than 2 hours. Thanks. 73, Jeff KB3FIO 240-285-6596 From ljfish1 at comcast.net Thu Dec 1 23:27:12 2016 From: ljfish1 at comcast.net (Jeff Fishman) Date: Thu, 1 Dec 2016 23:27:12 -0500 Subject: [FARC] FW: Help needed to drop tower - P.S. I have several hundred feet of poly rope that was used to pull heavy electrical cable through buried conduit. I don't know what the tensile strength is but I also have a block and tackle that would have four strands of this rope in parallel. Come by the house and take a look if you have time.
