We'll be using the FARG 146.730 - (PL 141.3) repeater again this year. If the trees attenuate your signal, just moving a few feet in either direction can make a big difference. Plan on using tactical call signs (Net Control, Time 1, Time 2, etc.). This will be a directed net and all calls should go through Net Control. Other stations may use the frequency for QSOs as long as they keep it brief. Your job is to assist by relaying race status information and calling for assistance if needed. You should arrive at your assigned location 15 mins. before your shift, and introduce yourself to the person in charge and letting them know why you're there. Look for a narrow electronic timing strip taped across the road - your contact should be right there. If you have a florescent safety vest, please wear it while on duty. If you have a cell phone, please have it with you and provide me with the number. Operations will be the same as last year, and you can go to http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1363618 for the times and locations (click on the green icons). The entrance is across from Glade Elementary, and we'll plan to meet at the center ballfield parking lot at 1300. Look for my gray Odyssey minivan. Here are the details: . We'll have two transmitters - one on 145.600, and the other on 146.600. The time gap between transmissions has been lessened to make it a little easier than last fall. . If you were born on an odd year, start by tracking the 145.600 fox. If born on an even year, start on the 146.600 fox. . When you locate the first fox, please keep it to yourself so as to not give its location away to others. You can then switch to the other frequency and begin tracking the remaining transmitter. . Talk in is on 146.520. . At this time, there's a chance of rain Saturday. If it's light, well go as planned. If heavy, we'll reschedule to sometime next month. If we do have to reschedule, I'll send out an email on these reflectors by 1200. . Sorry, no prizes - just bragging rights! If you have any questions, give me a shout. 73, Jeff KB3FIO ljfish1 at comcast.net C) 240-285-6596 From ljfish1 at comcast.net Sat Sep 12 11:18:41 2015 From: ljfish1 at comcast.net (Jeff Fishman) Date: Sat, 12 Sep 2015 11:18:41 -0400 Subject: [FARC] FOXHUNT POSTPONED Message-ID: <000601d0ed6e$4f48c920$edda5b60$@comcast.net> Due to the rainy conditions today, we are going to postpone the scheduled foxhunt at Heritage Farm Park until sometime next month.
