I would like to ask the FARC for your help, House Bill H.R. 1301 Amateur
radio Parity Act of 2015. Congress is considering the following: The
PVRC is also asking it's membership to step up and respond in a similar
manor.
https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/1301
I am asking you to use the template word document, make the appropriate
changes reflecting your geographic area and respective House and Senate
leaders, then print sign and mail off the letters per the directions.
This involves three letters with your signatures, a envelope addressed
to the ARRL and a postage stamp. In my opinion, it does not matter if
you are still licensed or not active or inactive. You were at one time
and I hope to can at least still support the hobby.
If you are a internet smart individual, visit the individual sites of
your state senators and house representative. Go to the contact us and
simply do a cut and paste following the empty fields provided. Please
find the time to do this. Thanks in advance.

HR-1301
The Amateur Radio Parity Act of 2015 -- H.R.1301 -- has been introduced
in the US House of Representatives. The measure would direct the FCC to
extend its rules relating to reasonable accommodation of Amateur Service
communications to private land use restrictions. US Rep Adam Kinzinger
(R-IL) introduced the bill on March 4 with
12 original co-sponsors from both sides of the aisle -- seven
Republicans and five Democrats.
HR 1301 would require the FCC to amend its Part 97 Amateur Service rules
to apply the three-part test of the PRB-1
federal pre-emption policy to include homeowners' association
regulations and deed restrictions, often referred to as "covenants,
conditions, and restrictions" (CC&Rs). At present, PRB-1 only applies to
state and local zoning laws and ordinances. The FCC has been reluctant
to extend the same legal protections to include such private land-use
agreements without direction from Congress.
H.R. 1301 has been referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
Rep Greg Walden, W7EQI (R-OR), chairs that panel's Communications and
Technology Subcommittee, which will consider the measure.
ARRL members are urged to contact their US House members and ask them to
sign on to the bill as a co-sponsor. We recommend sending the letter to
your member of Congress to:

Brian,
As I stated in a follow up email, the letter template I had attached got
stripped away and for those who requested it I would send it to them
directly.
Here it is...
Thanks for your support.

I was on a short term contract & my part ended Monday so I'm looking again. It was funny because I'd had just updated my LinkedIn with the new job on Sunday & then Monday I was out the door. I didn't know exactly when it would end & was hoping for another 2 - 6 weeks.
Oh well, the good part is I'll be able to get to next month's FARG lunch assuming I'm still out of work.
