I don't know how your interests are divided up or how you prioritize you 
interestes, but on the BWAN side

i am digging into MikroTik, OSPF and BGP to make sure I am not missing 
something.
I made a break through with HamWan, they talk freely and are very 
helpful if you use IRC rather than email.
In Swedish you says "the water wares away the stone", never give up.
So now I I'll find what BCWarn wants to talk about.
