Got a letter with another form to sign but It looks like we are getting close to being a tax exempt organization again. We could not get a retroactive reinstatement due to Joe Durnal's total and abject negligence so the effective date will either be May of 2013 when I filed the 26 page application for reinstatement or August of 2014 when I mail the second form. 73s, Mark (AB3KS) From ljfish1 at comcast.net Wed Aug 6 13:57:24 2014 From: ljfish1 at comcast.net (jeff) Date: Wed, 6 Aug 2014 13:57:24 -0400 Subject: [FARC] Gran Fondo radio ops needed! Message-ID: <004701cfb19f$e2628ea0$a727abe0$@comcast.net> Frederick ARES and the Frederick Amateur Radio Club will again be providing communications support for the Gran Fondo Bike Race this year on August 24th. We need operators with a mobile or HT 2M rig willing to man the four checkpoints (timing stations) during this event. Operations will be the same as last year, and you can go to http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1363618 for the times and locations (click on the green icons). Plan on using either the MADXRA or FARG repeater systems. While Gran Fondo isn't a "non-profit" organization, we got a nice donation from them which was then donated to the MADXRA group for the maintenance of their repeater system. For the locations with longer hours, we will try and limit the shifts to 4 hours. As always, you don't have to be a member of ARES, FARC, or MADXRA - just a ham willing to lend a hand. Please let me know if you're available. Message-ID: <736db.9567fd0.412296bd@aol.com> Jeff; Unfortunately I am committed with the 12 year old boy Scout that I help out with tomorrow evening. Although I have not been to an FARC meeting for a while and I would like to attend; I am more interested in anything you need to pass on about the Gran Fondo Bike Race. If something comes up in the FARC meeting that you may need an answer from me, don't hesitate to call on the cell phone. I am still OK with the Wolfsville and Highland School Roads location. I drove up there last week, so I am ok with directions. I will get there as soon as church is over, but I am sure it will not be much before 1300 hrs... I'll get there ASAP and can stay until the close of the site. Give me an email with any other specific data I may need for the race, or call me and we can get together and talk one-on-one... I can even buy the ice tea... Thanks & 73 Jim N3HTA (Phones: Home 301-662-6557 Cell 240 446-5861) In a message dated 8/17/2014 6:30:57 P.M. I can't make any sense out of the map that is in the link below. The green icons don't have any information about location. As best I can tell the bike routes don't go anywhere near the intersection of Bethel and Hamburgh.
