[FARC] New products at the Hamvention

Wandering around the vendor exhibits at Dayton I didn't see all that much
that was new (but it was still fun to salivate over the top-of-the-line rigs
from the big 3 manufacturers, the Begali keys, and some of the high-end SDR
radios). There seemed to be a good deal of "buzz" around remote station
control, and a fair amount of interest in the inexpensive (<$50) Chinese
dual-band HTs (which are also available via Amazon). Not to be overlooked is
the BeagleBone, a largely unknown but more powerful competitor to the
Raspberry Pi (see http://beagleboard.org/Products/BeagleBone%20Black) that
was used in some of the Sierra Radio projects listed on the CQ page. 

Beyond the Hamvention itself, camping at the nearby KOA campground was a
unique experience - the vast majority of folks there were attending the
Hamvention, so there were lots of after-hours interaction with other hams,
and a chance to see a wide variety of portable / mobile stations.
