David,

Rolan, w3fdk here and I would be  glad to help you. I  live  in Adamstown, about 6 miles south of  Frederick  and I could meet you somewhere and help you with it.

I am retired but so I am kind of flexible but I am busy a couple of nights this week but we can work out something.

A couple of questions, I looked at the manual and it is for end fed half wave antennas  with a one half wave  counterpoise 180 degrees from the direction of the  antenna which, for example, for    40 meters  would be a 63 ft wire tied to a tree west of you going to the red terminal  and the counter poise being a 63 ft wire on the  ground pointing east. and connected to the black terminal.  As the manual says, you could , say , put the wire over a limb 35 feet away from you, for example, and let the end hang down, that being the L configuration.

Does that make sense, I have some trees here  in my yard we could play with your antenna , tuner and qrp rig .if you wish.  What band would you be interested in?  I would check with Curtis and see what antenna support structures are available. I sure hope  to drop by the site and see everyone  anyway but let me know if  i can help  check it out before this week end.

Subject: [FARC] Help me debug my tuner kit?

Hi, guys,

I know you all are considerably smarter than I am, so I'd like to ask for
help. I just assembled a Hendricks SLT+ QRP tuner
(http://www.qrpkits.com/sltplus.html) and I must have done something wrong.
I'm not able to get a match on the antennas I've tried, even though they've
been cut per specification. The kit is fairly simple, which makes it all the
more embarrassing that I haven't gotten it to work.

Would any of you knowledgeable folks be willing to take a look at it and
help me determine the problem? I was hoping to set up a QRP station for our
field day.

Much thanks and 73,

--David, K3PO
