Thanks Dan for the wonderful video link. This is exactly what I did for the USAF during my
4 year enlistment. Since I was a licensed ham radio operator at age 14, when I enlisted at
age 17 I was put right into the USAF Security Service as a Russian CW intercept operator.
For several years I copied the coded messages of a Russian fighter squadron - if they flew
or "hickupped" I knew it. It was a quite an experience for a teenage ham operator!

I know I am not a skilled or proficient CW operator. But check out the massive
rass straight key pounding out CW at the start of this documentary. Take note
f the call signs of the UK operators as they talk on. Puts our 1 X 2 call signs
o shame.
hen knowing Morse code really meant something, Good story, reminds me of
omething I heard of that was going on while in the Navy!
