As part of the monthly Frederick Amateur Radio Club meeting, we (ARES) will be conducting a basic training class on the use of the County Health Dept. radio go-kits following the business part of our meeting next Mon., the 21st. These kits are for use during training exercises and actual emergencies by Emcomm personnel for the Health Dept. and other served agencies. In the kits are quad band radios, power supplies, antennas, laptop computers, etc.

ARES AEC Rick Ogden N3RO will assist me by demonstrating the Yaesu FT-8900 rigs and handing out "cheat sheets" on basic radio operation. Any ham interested in learning how to operate the kits is welcome, and FARC/ARES/RACES/MADXRA membership is not required to attend. Our meetings are held at the Independent Hose Co. on Baughmans Ln., and begin at 7 PM with the training to begin around 7:45. Let me know if you have any questions.

73,

Jeff Fishman KB3FIO
Fred. ARES EC
