Old or Ongoing Business:

-FARC Club Radio Station -
Herb Palm - K3HCP, visited the club station on 6-7-11 to find both
radios turned on.
The last entry in the log book was for late March, 2011. Since
the main power supply is
under the locked desk, it is possible to turn on any radio that
might NOT have been
powered down individually, as always recommended, thereby powering
up radios in the
locked desk without knowing about it. Therefore it was
recommended to feed the main
AC into the desk to a "main power strip" which then controls power
to any attached
      equipment.

-Organization for Regional Amateur Clubs
E-mail was received wondering if this year as in the past, our
club would provide
$1,000.00 toward the annual Scholarship Fund. The established
procedure is to give
$1,000.00 Scholarships to licensed Hams and full time students.
Jim Ridgley made the
decision in behalf of the club to make our regular annual donation.

-Field Day, June 26-27, 2011
The club station will be set up on the top and directly below deck
of the Frederick
Memorial Hospital under the direction of Joe Durnal, NE3R, one
station to be for
Radio/Voice and one station for CW/Digital Modes. The antennas
will be on the top
deck and the radios below in the shady area. Volunteers and
operators are needed and
      welcome.

- ARES
Hams are invited to sign up for a free Red Cross sponsored course
on "Shelter Operations" on 6-
21-2011 at their headquarters in Walkersville.

A large Charity - Bike Race will be held around Utica Park in
Frederick requiring
various 2m stations for communications. This event is scheduled
for October 8, 2011.

-RACES
There are no scheduled exercises this Summer
