All,

Below is an interesting test I would like to play with if anyone wants to try some MT63 2K simplex.

I think we had some very good results with MT63 2K last night after the RACES net through the 147.06 repeater. All copied each other and a WRAPPED message was received and it UNWRAPPED so that worked great.

Rolan,

Thanks for the report. I’d say you had an excellent first test. Once folks are comfortable with their levels and you’re all reporting 100%, I’d recommend introducing FLMSG. The workflow is actually easier than using FLWRAP. And for plain messages you can just use the “Blank” tab. But you’ll really start getting some attention when you use the ICS-213 and NTS Radiogram forms.

Also, give simplex a shot. Simulate some poor paths by dropping power and advising stations to open their radio squelch on the weakest signals. It think folks will be amazed when they see the performance under less than perfect, even horrendous conditions. That’s where NBEMS really shines as compared to Winlink/Packet.
