All,

If anyone wants to test MT63 2K on the air please let me know . I am
planning on being at EOC next Tuesday eve and participate in the below test
but I would like to check MT63 2k through the 147.06 before hand to be sure
all works well. It should but it would be nice to verify it before hand. I
live outside of Adamstown, about 6 miles south of Frederick and I would
first like to work someone simplex to be sure all is ok that way.

I will be using FLDIGI for the program and I have an USB Signalink inter
face for the IC2720 but we can do it using 'acoustical coupling' if you
don't have a hard wired interface. Here's how it's done. As with all these
programs it takes a while to get familiar with what it takes to set it up.

1. Go to http://www.w1hkj.com/download.html and under Windows Setup
download fldigi-3.20.34
2. Install the program configure it for MT63 2K
3. When you TX on the program be sure you hear the modulation from the
speaker and if so hold the PTT on your mic while it is close to the speaker
and that should be enough to 'couple' the MT63 2K signal to your transmitter
to transmit the signal.
4. For receive, connect an audio cable from your speaker to the line in on
your computer and set your sound card configuration on the FLDIGI program
to that audio in.
5. I have also used headsets and plugged them into the mic in on the sound
card on this laptop and then hold the earpiece close to the radio speaker on
receive and it will act as a microphone and allow you to copy the received
data. You would have to set your card configuration on the FLDIGI to used
that mic input.

If anyone wants to try this over the air I will be glad to try it if we
can find a mutual time.
