Minutes: Minutes were read for June 20, 2011, approved unanimously,
without corrections.

New Licenses and/or Upgrades: New Lic.: David Connelly - KB3WFU,
Technician; No upgrades.

Treasurer Report: There was no treasurers report.

New Member Application(s): David Conners - KB3TVE, Technician; voted on
and unanimously accepted.

Old or Ongoing Business:

- Foundation for Amateur Radio (FAR)
The scholarship donation has been made by FARC.

-Tax Filing
Joe Durnal will resubmit paperwork for our tax ID number before the
end of the year. He will get forms from the state to get the tax ID
number from the Federal Government. This is important to maintain our
tax free status for donations.

- Club Station Power Strip & Antennas
The new power strip will be relocated into the desk by Jim Durnal
and Jeff Fishman. This may require drilling a new hole. Jeff is also
making plans for a station orientation. The antenna connections will
have to be checked for proper soldering and overall performance.

- By Law Committee
Jeff Fishman, Lou Powosky, and Mark Whitmore are the committee
members with Jim Ridgley as Ex-Officio. The committee is proposing
using the “boiler plate” sample from the ARRL web site, then making
modifications as needed to meet our needs.

New Business:

- Program for the September 19, 2011 Meeting
Joe Durnal will be putting a program together on Automatic Packet
Reporting System (APRS), also frequently referred to as - Automatic
Position Reporting System, using HAM Radios with APRS capabilities, how
the are configured, used, and more.

Committee Reports:

- Skywarn
Since there were no severe weather conditions, Skywarn was not
brought up on the 146.730 MHz repeater. Every member not already
trained in the basis procedure is encouraged to take this training.
Additional “Winter Storms” training is also recommended. Jim Ridgley
will update us on when the next round of training will take place.

-ARES
The new director at the Frederick Memorial Hospital made it
possible for the club to set up the Field Day station on portions of the
top two levels of the parking garage.

A bike race is scheduled for October 2011. More to come on that.

A Mini - Triathlon is scheduled for August 2011. Jeff Fishman will
post the details on the “reflector”.

- RACES
Races is shut down for the Summer.

- Field Day
The Frederick Memorial Hospital parking garage proved to be a
relatively quiet area as far as RF was concerned. The borrowed Solar
Trailer could not be used to do height limitations in the garage. Two
antennas were set up on the top deck that worked well on 10, 15, 20, 40,
and 80 meters using the club station, antenna tuner, headset with foot
switch and the portable power supply.

- Misc.
Leonard Keepers has a 80 meter antenna for whoever could use it.

Ham Fests are scheduled for several dates. Check on line for the
latest information.
