I am willing to attempt to get a National Weather Service Skywarn Basics 1
class started for the Frederick, MD area. Anyone, ham or not, please
advise me of name and contact information (e-mail address is preferred). There
are no guarantees, but I will make the attempt if I get a sufficient
number of participants. A reminder... being a radio amateur is NOT a
requirement to participate in Skywarn as weather reports can be sent to the Weather
Service Forecast Office in Sterling, VA via telephone (the same place the
amateur radio reports are sent... except usually by radio). Skywarn is not
limited to severe thunder storms and tornados... severe winter weather
reports are important as well, especially icing conditions.
