The State Of Delaware has declared June as Amateur Radio Month.  All Amateurs should be proud to read what the law makers have to say about the value and importance of our hobby.

HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 50
 
  
RECOGNIZING THE MONTH OF JUNE, 2010, AS AMATEUR RADIO MONTH IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE.
 

                WHEREAS, the State of Delaware has more than 2227 licensed amateur radio operators who have demonstrated their value in public assistance by providing emergency radio communications; and 
                WHEREAS, these amateur radio operators donate these services free of charge to the State, in the interest of the citizens of the State as well as the world; and 
                WHEREAS, these Amateur Radio operators provided thousands of volunteer hours during the two winter of 2010 blizzards, in the interest and spirit of providing emergency communications and providing observations to the citizens and governments of the State of Delaware and its 3 counties; and 
                WHEREAS, these amateur radio operators are on alert for any emergency, local or worldwide, and practice their communication skills during the American Radio Relay League's Field Day exercise; and 
                WHEREAS, this year's Amateur Radio Field Day will take place on June 26-27, 2010; 
                NOW, THEREFORE: 
                BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 145th General Assembly of the State of Delaware , the Senate concurring therein, that the Delaware General Assembly does hereby recognize the month of June, 2010, as Amateur Radio Month in Delaware . 
                BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the General Assembly commends Delaware ’s amateur radio operators for their invaluable and public-spirited efforts to assist with communications during times of emergency.
SYNOPSIS 
          This Resolution recognizes the month of June as Amateur Radio Month in Delaware .
