[FARC] Field Day 2010 - Plans

Hi Joe and others on the FARC reflector (did I call it the right  name... I 
am not really into the computer thing)...
 
I think your idea for a Field Day activity is great.  The point  of 
starting out small is good as well.  It has been a lot of years since I  operated 
with the NIST (was then the Bureau of Standards) Radio Club on the  
Gaithersburg location.  Although we had some very experienced hams, there  were 
several NOVICES (does that tell you how long ago it was) like me that  really 
enjoyed the set up and operating under different conditions (from the  usual 
shack location with commercial power).  You are certainly aware that  Field 
Day can be done from the Club station, private home shack or "in the  field".  
I also concur with a conversation starting at the March meeting...  got to 
get an early start.
