I don't know any specifics on that brand of amplifier, however, it seems to me that the replacement mic is a low impedance type, and should have been replaced with a Hi-impedance type of mic.
I'd have someone check with Shure or another mfg. BTW... did anyone get a number off the old microphone?

Colleagues = Anybody out there have some expertise with audio equipment? The UUC at
Barneveld, New York, has a large amplifier. The brand name appears to be Kustom, and
the Model is K2630. The mic failed and they replaced it with a cheap one from Radio
Shack. It produced sound, but at a very low level. They then purchased a relatively
expensive mic for about $150, but the low level of sound problem persists.
I had this problem with an ICOM radio a few years ago when I got mics mixed up and,
although the pinout appeared to be the same, the audio level was too low until I
discovered that I was using the wrong mic.
Does anyone have knowledge of what mic needs to be purchased to be compatible with
the audio amp I've described above?
