Here's a request for help from Dick WN3R to set up and staff a Ham Radio
display in Rockville, with possibilities for a long-term exhibit:

We have been granted the premier location in the Campus Center Building
at Montgomery College, Rockville Campus (On Route 355 at Manakee Street).

*Setup Times*
April 25, Saturday, 4-6pm
April 26, Sunday, 10am - noon

*Show Times*
April 26, Noon - 5pm

*Tear Down*
April 26, 5-6pm

In addition to the above times I will be building antennas and testing
gear later today (3-11), tomorrow (3-12) and this Saturday (3-14) at my
Frederick QTH. Come help.

*The exhibit will consist of the following items:*

Display Banner and Posters
Laptop connected to a projector to show ham radio videos from the internet
Laptop to demonstrate digital modes - PSK31 waterfall is always cool looking
Several code practice oscillators and keys
Vacuum Tube vs. solid state replacement display
HF Transceiver for making contacts
Several HF radios for receiving only
A variety of electronic kits, maybe a soldering station
ARRL and licensing literature
At least two dipoles - 20m and 40m
12v Power supply
2m HT
Crystal set
2 meter mobile (with perhaps an outdoor vertical)
and YOU

I'd like to have some give aways. Any ideas? Stuff from your surplus
stash - oscillators, keys, tubes, parts, old receivers, etc. We can get
you a donation valuation for a tax deduction from MARC, a 501(c)3
organization.

Please let me know when you can participate. Help building the antennas
and testing the gear would be appreciated. Please pass the word and
encourage your ham friends to help. Also bring the kids to help build
antennas, setup, schlep the gear, and enjoy the other science exhibits.

This is too big and too important to be a one person show. We need you
to meet and greet the public and tell the ham radio story. This is our
ONE chance to impress the leadership for the Rockville Science Center so
they will dedicate space to a permanent ham radio exhibit. It may very
well become the only such exhibit in the greater Washington DC area.

Anybody have a movie screen?

Thanks
