[FARC] Numbers Stations

Regarding numbers stations, reference the "Shortwave Listening Guidebook," by Harry Helms.  Copyright is old, 1993, but 
it still should address some of the questions about numbers and other clandestine stations people may have.  Pages 268-274 discuss numbers stations specifically.   The chapter entitled "Unusual, Illegal, and Mysterious Radio Stations," beginning on page 253, discusses clandestine, pirate, smuggler, and other unusual or mysterious radio stations.   

I hear numbers stations all the time but I have never heard a pirate or what could be considered a clandestine station unless one could consider VOA a clandestine station of sorts.   Published bands and frequencies for stations like these never yield anything on my modest dipole station.
