        Roland, It was 1977! Sharon was carrying our first child and Jennifer was born in December of that year. She now has a one year old girl and a four year old boy of her own. I was at the gate. It is about time your guys stop beating your heads against the wall. I tried to stop the madness years ago. Hey will be sad to see it go, but it is a lot of work.

Bob,

Thanks for the info. I forget when the first hamfest was for this run but if 
I rememer right I was the vendor and table chairman for the first hamfest 
and I think that was before I moved to Adamstown so that would have been 
before 1978.  Years before there were hamfest of some sort but I wasn't
here 
so I don't know the details. I think for 8-10 years or so me and Chuck, 
W3SOG put up the sound systems and I remember I was initially against having 
it on Fathers Day because I thought the turnout would be low but that was 
the only date open and thankfully I was wrong about the turnouts.

Just a few thoughts on what I remember and I certainly agree with the 
decision made, that is a lot of responsibility with , I thnk, the costs 
getting so high to use the fair grounds.
