Courtesy of Bob Moroney, here are the details of the Gift Exchange:

> An entertaining "Holiday Gift Exchange" has become a tradition at the FARC
> Holiday supper. If you haven't been to one, here's how the gift exchange
> works:
>
> 1.) Participation is optional, but as always, the more the merrier, so
> please consider bringing a gift.
> 2.) The gift you bring should be valued at about $12.00 to $15.00.
> 3.) The gift should be something useful or simply nice, i.e., something
> that you wouldn't mind receiving as a gift yourself. (In other words,
> stuff like socks, underwear, perfume, cologne, neckties and the like may
> not be appropriate...)
> 4.) "Re-gifting" something you've received is fine, but please keep #2 and
> #3 in mind.
> 5.) Gifts should be wrapped; wrapping paper and ribbons are fine if you're
> so inclined, but a brown paper bag taped shut also works fine. The idea
> is to keep the gift a "secret" until it's opened.
> 6.) Everyone who brings a gift gets a numbered ticket.
> 7.) After supper, matching tickets are drawn at random, one by one.
> 8.) The first person whose number is drawn gets to select a gift from
> among all those brought to the supper. He or she then unwraps the gift so
> all can see what their lucky number and wise selection has gotten them.
> 9.) The second person whose number is drawn can select from all the
> remaining gifts, OR grab the gift the first person selected. In that case
> the first person gets to go back to select one of the remaining gifts.
> 10.) And so on until all the numbers are drawn. As you can see, the last
> person whose number is drawn has the "pick of the crop" of all the gifts
> already claimed, plus the one remaining mystery gift that hasn't yet been
> claimed and unwrapped.
>
> The process is much more complicated to describe and read about than it is
> to actually do, so please consider bringing a gift and joining the fun!
