[FARC] Fri dinner meeting cancelled

OK folks, this is the first luncheon CANX message I've ever seen from 
Rolan W3FDK, so there must be some serious concern, FYI.

And, oh by the way, I've heard that the U.S. pork industry is very 
concerned about the Swine Flu moniker for this current scare, lobbying 
for the disease to be renamed, lest they lose market share to one or 
more of the "other" white meats (chicken, tofu, etc.). 

So: should the ARRL similarly be concerned, because of, you know, the 
"Ham" connection & stuff??

Dear all,
 
I talked to Phil and because the Swine Flu alert has been elevated 
today we are cancelling Friday's get together simply because of the 
amount of traffic that goes to restaurants and  we feel discretion is 
the better part of valor. We'll see how it looks next month but I would 
rather over react on something like this with so many unknowns.
 
Sorry, but please understand our concerns.
