Here's the latest blurb from Jim WI3N, our ARRL MDC Section manager, in
case you didn't get it directly.
If you're still wondering what you were going to do with your Saturday,
the second item has a bit more detail on what's in the plan for
tomorrow's event near Brandywine, MD.

==> ECHOLINK NET TONIGHT
At 8 pm tonight will be the monthly ECHOLINK net held on the WASH_DC
node 6154 server. The following repeaters were linked
for the last session: KA2JAI, W3ICF, W3SMD-L, N8YIB, N3HF, WB3GXW so
if you can hit one of them you can check in via RF. It's open to
everyone to share items of interest to the section.
==> GREAT SOUTHERN MARYLAND PICNIC
Tomorrow from 9 am to 5 pm will be the Great Southern Maryland Picnic.
Please click my website <http://www.arrl-mdc.net> to register and get
directions. You may also pay at the door. Registration is encouraged
so they know how much food to have.
The emphasis is on emergency communications. There will be
demonstrations of NVIS antennas, digital including PSK, EasyPal, and go
kits. In fact, bring your own go kit to show so others may get some
ideas. If you're interested in digital bring your laptop to get it set
up. The American Red Cross Communications van will be there along with
the Southern Maryland Amateur Radio Club "Hambulance" that they've
built. If you'd like to make up some Power Pole adapters for more
universality, that will be available too. Lots of hands on things to
do.
See you there.

Jim Cross WI3N
