[FARC] Field Day Discussion

For anyone interested in following up on the brief Field Day discussion
we had at last night's FARC meeting, I have NOT been able to locate the
web page that I was talking about, i.e., the one with the rather
curmudgeonly (but interesting) point of view on the direction Field Day
has taken for some Ham Radio groups.

The page was one of 40 or more that the author, Bob W2IK, had up on
something called "AOL Hometown", at least as of a few weeks ago. Now
all but a couple of those pages seem to have disappeared. If they've
really hit the bit bucket, it would be a shame.

Hopefully he's just re-locating them to somewhere else on AOL or another
site. There was a lot of good info he had authored and/or compiled,
delivered along with a healthy dose of his opinion on the state of Ham
Radio, ARES and life in general.

W2IK seems (seemed?) to be modeled after Wayne Green in that regard.
Remember Wayne? "73" magazine, "Kilobaud Microcomputing", "80 Micro",
colloidal silver generators, etc., etc.?

Anyway, if I can locate the article in any form, I'll get it out to the
group.

73, Bob K9CMR
