[FARC] 10 Meter DX

All my ham life I have heard hams talk about one-way skips on ten meters. I am not sure that I believe there is such a thing but who knows? Maybe it was a one way skip. Keep listening....turn on to ten meters every time you start to work your ham rig. You would be surprised how many times the band is open and no one listning. Listen for the beacon stations between 28,200 and 28,300 Khz.

Allen probably sometime between 4 and 6 p.m. I can't remember exactly. I was surprised because I never hear anyone on 10 meters and I've never heard a DX station. I tried to work him but he just wasn't hearing me. He was calling QRZ on 28.400 and he wasn't taking calls up or down the band so I don't think he was working split, but I couldn't hear any of the other stations in the pile-up calling him so I guess it was just some freak propagation path that allowed me to hear him.

Keep an ear open on 10 meters. I heard HR2J Honduras for about an hour yesterday on 28.400. I couldn't work him but he was coming in very strong and he reported he had been on 28.400 for about 2 hours.
