Well, I've finally gone and done it. After plodding along for months, I 
finally got it together and got upgraded. Went to CARAFest this morning,

sat for it, and passed! Thanks to books from the ARRL and Gordon West, 
and the Laurel VEC for taking a last-minute walk-in examinee, I'm now a 
full-fledged General class operator.

Now, all I need is a rig. and antenna. and maybe a tuner. and to 
reorganize my office/shack. and more free time to actually get on the 
air. ...
