Just a reminder:
The November Frederick Amateur Radio Club meeting is coming up -
Monday, November 17th, 7:00 PM sharp at the Independent Hose Company
fire station on Baughmans Lane in Frederick.
The program topic this month is our annual refresher discussion on
traffic handling, with some new info on how digital modes fit into the
picture.
Pen and paper traffic skills are still relevant for NTS radiograms, real
emergencies and drills, and ARES public service uses, but the advantages
of using various digital modes for passing traffic are many, and with
laptop computers becoming common items in emergency go kits, digital
modes are being used more and more.
Whether you are new to Ham Radio and/or traffic handling, or you simply
would like to refresh your traffic handling knowledge and skills, don't
miss our November meeting. And if you're are an Old Hand who has seen
and done it all, your insights on the subject will be most welcome!
Also, this month we'll try a 50-50 raffle: $1 a chance, the winning
ticket gets half of the funds collected (rounded up to the nearest $1 as
needed) with the remainder benefiting the FARC kitty.
See you at 7 PM on Monday!
73, Bob K9CMR
