After you've returned from Dayton this coming weekend, don't forget the
May Frederick Amateur Radio Club meeting, Monday, May 19th, at 7 PM, at
the Independent Hose Company on Baughmans Lane.
Note that once again, we will be meeting DOWNSTAIRS in the large hall at
the back of the station. Please park either in spaces along the
flagpole side of the station or in the back parking area.
The main attraction this month is a presentation on Ham Radio
contesting, given by Jim WX3B, an active contester and member of the
Potomac Valley Radio Club (PVRC).
For those of you not familiar with PVRC, they make every effort to "Rule
the Airwaves" during the many Ham Radio contests they participate in.
There are a number of PVRC-affiliated contest stations located in our
area, and the teams are always looking for interested Hams who want to
join the fun and help, or just stop by to see what contesting is all about.
This promises to be an informative and interesting presentation, giving
a behind-the-signal glimpse of what goes into the world-class PVRC
contesting effort.
Hope to see you there.
73, Bob K9CMR
