Greetings,

We still need a few good radio operators to provide communications for the
Multiple Sclerosis 5K Walk on Sun., April 6th, from 0900 to approx. 1230.
The walk starts and finishes at the West Frederick Middle School, and the
route winds around Baker Park and the adjacent streets. All you need as far
as gear is a 2M HT or mobile rig, and great food is provided at the
conclusion of the event.

Sign-ups so far:
Roy Bates N2CSQ
Rick Ogden N3RO
Josh Sullivan KB3QIB
Eric Powder KD4DJW
Karen Powder KD4DJX

Public service events such as this provide us with an excellent opportunity
to hone our tactical communication skills similar to the way we would
operate during a real emergency. No experience is necessary, just a ham
license and a willingness to assist a worthy community endeavor. The race
starts at 1000, but we need all ops to meet at the staging area at the
school by 0900 so that everyone will be in position by start time. The
frequency we will use is the FARC 2M repeater (146.640-,156.7 PL) with
146.580 simplex as alternate. We could use an additional 2-4 operators to
properly cover the route, and ARES membership is not required to
participate. Please contact me by Sat. if you can help.
